Need to know

Can I pay on arrival?

Cash and card payments may be available on the night if spaces remain. We strongly recommend booking in advance—you’ll save money, guarantee entry and avoid being turned away if the event sells out.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive during your booked 20-minute arrival slot and have your QR code ready. If you arrive late, we’ll try our best to accommodate you, but this may not be possible when the event is fully booked.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Tickets can be transferred to another available date or time free of charge through the Eventbrite app or website. Tickets are non-refundable if you choose to cancel. Scare Wash continues during rain and most bad weather. If we cancel an event, customers will be contacted using the email address provided when booking and tickets will be fully refunded.

Which vehicles are permitted?

Cars, vans and minibuses are welcome. Motorcycles are not permitted. If your vehicle is larger than a standard minibus, email admin@liveworldne.co.uk before booking. There is no passenger limit imposed by Scare Wash, provided the vehicle can legally carry everyone inside.

Do we remain inside the vehicle?

Yes. Everyone must remain inside their vehicle throughout the experience, and all windows must remain closed.

Will performers touch or enter the vehicle?

Yes. Performers may touch your vehicle, open unlocked doors, reach inside, enter the vehicle and interact with you. They will not deliberately hurt you. Keep your doors locked if you do not want performers to enter. If you need the experience to stop, switch on your hazard lights.

Will anything touch my vehicle?

Yes. Water, fake blood and other theatrical effects may come into contact with your vehicle. Filming and dashcams are permitted, and you may purchase another ticket if you want to experience the wash again.

Is Scare Wash suitable for children?

We have welcomed visitors of all ages. The experience includes darkness, loud sounds, flashing lights, close interaction and sudden scares, so parents and guardians should decide whether it is suitable for their children. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Who should not take part?

Scare Wash may not be suitable for pregnant guests or people with heart conditions, epilepsy or sensitivity to flashing lights, loud noises or sudden scares. Pets are not permitted, and anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be refused entry.

What facilities and other attractions are available?

Toilets and accessible facilities are available at Royal Quays. Guests remain inside their vehicle during Scare Wash, making it suitable for people with limited mobility. Directional signs will guide you to the entrance. Turner’s Scare Fair is open daily from 2pm–8pm, while Scare Wash runs from 6pm–10pm. Entry to the fair is free, with rides charged individually. If you arrive early, enjoy the fair or wait inside your vehicle.
